On 05th and 08th December 2015, the Centre for Agricultural Policies (CAP - IPSARD) organized a short course named “Applying GTAP Model in Research on Impact of Vietnam’s Participation in Free Trade Agreements on the Domestic Livestock Sector”. Because of short time, the course content focused on fundamental topics including applying software in creating relevant data for GTAP model and calculating it, checking the correctness of the results calculated, and analyzing them.
The course was mainly instructed by Dr. David VANJETTI with the assistance from Dr. PHAM Lan Huong. Participants of the course are researchers come from different organizations, namely CAP, other department of IPSARD, The School of Economics and Business – Hanoi National University, and the National Centre for Socio-Economic Information and Forecast.

Dr David VANJETTI is a researcher in trade policy analysis at Crawford School of Public Policy, Australian National University. He applied GTAP model in many studies of analyzing impact of different free trade agreements on Vietnam’s economy.
Dr. PHAM Lan Huong is a leading expert in Vietnam on applying computable general equilibrium model. She was a former Director of Macroeconomics Department at Central Institution for Economic and Management.
