

Introduction
The report on the quick assessment of “Impacts of Covid-19 pandemic on smallholder farmers and vulnerable rural people in Viet Nam” was conducted by the Institute of Policy and Strategy for Agriculture and Rural Development (IPSARD) in collaboration with research experts and local partners in the framework of the project “Network for Agriculture and Rural Development Think-tanks for Countries in Mekong sub-region” (NARDT) under support from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) for sponsoring this research, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for active involvement and supporting the implementation of the survey, and Japan fund for Poverty Reduction through ADB for printing.
The report provided a panorama of Covid-19 pandemic’s impacts on agriculture and rural development, findings of the pandemic impacts on rural households’ livelihoods, including agricultural and non-agricultural production activities; thereby, identifying priority areas for government policy intervention to mitigate the adverse impacts of the pandemic.
